I worked with “Big Ed” at TV-8 and enjoyed his company and benefitted from his skill as a cameraman and audio engineer…. and of course, from his sense of humor. God be with you, Ed.

Was very sad to read about the passing of my friend, Ed.
He was a warm, sincere guy with a great sense of humor, and
I enjoyed working with him. Ed, we tried to collaborate on several
projects but we just never got there, but we had some laughs trying.
    Rest well, Eddie.

To the family and friends of Ed Gazel,
I grew up in Hague on overbrook rd, where Ed built his home and resided. As a kid we did not have a lot to do and remember how kind he was to my brother and I, taking us fishing and snorkeling and just being a good friend. We also spent much time listening to music and watching old twilight zone marathons and other programs that not too many younger generations would have cared for. That shaped for me today a love of older cinematography and science fiction. Perhaps it is the simplicity or just the unknown? Ed also taught us how humor and being kind to others can be such a good quality in life to have. I still remember a few 4th of july’s when he and some friends were really into fireworks! And they sure did light up the sky for us all and some how he figured out how to attach m-80,s to the rockets
which made one heck of a boom! I know I will always remember those days, And I know he will be looking down this 4th and be smiling down on us all.

I went to school with Ed in Delmar, NY back in the 60s and 70s. The Ed I remember was full of life and would bring instant energy to a room. Ed was witty, kind, forthright and a good listener. The qualities that make for a very good friend. I moved away from the area but through others learned that he was involved with ministries, television broadcast production and karaoke. Activities that involve close interaction with people. Also, not surprising he chose Lake George a fun place as his residence. R.I.P. Ed, you will be missed.

Condolences to the Gazel family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says Jehovah God, “heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds.” May God bring you comfort and peace.
