Robbin “Spoff” Spofford

FORT EDWARD – Robbin “Spoff” Spofford, passed away peacefully at the Glens Falls Hospital on March 13th 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Earl and Julia Spofford of Fort Edward.

Rob worked at the Glens Falls Hospital for 32 years and also for the Village of Fort Edward for 5 years.  Rob really enjoyed his job as a crossing guard at the Fort Edward School. He cherished his time with the students, parents and all the staff members of the school.  Rob also enjoyed his love for music.  He played guitar, drums, piano, Rob also enjoyed the outdoors, he also enjoyed the sport of hunting, among many other outdoor activities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Spofford of Fort Edward; his son Alex Spofford of Fort Edward, Tanya Spofford of Fort Edward, Laura Shea of South Glens Falls and John and Aishling Spofford of Hudson Falls; he is also survived by his brother, Brian Spofford of Atlanta Georgia; along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 10 to noon at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Following the calling hours, we will be processing to Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward for the Rite of Committal.
