Noel D. Monahan

HUDSON FALLS – Noel D. Monahan, 64 of Maple Street, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday afternoon, March 13, 2024 after a long illness.

Born on May 9, 1959 in Glens Falls, she was a life-long area resident and daughter of the late Noel and Mary (Gillis) Deihl. Noel was a graduate of Glens Falls High School. After graduation, she went on to take courses at Adirondack Community College. On September 19, 1980, she married Daniel A. Monahan at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls and the two have enjoyed almost 44 years of marriage and companionship.

Noel worked as a Bookkeeper at Farm Credit in Greenwich, retiring after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach where she loved to go to relax.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by an aunt, Rena Gillis; and a nephew, Gary John Wilhelm.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel A. Monahan of Hudson Falls; her daughter, Danielle Arenas (Gus) of Hudson Falls; her beloved grandchildren, Damian Arenas, and Ellie and Sadie Arenas; two sisters, Lisa Gundrum (Robert), and Susan Fairbanks; her brother, John Deihl (Nikki); nieces and nephews, Eric Wilhelm (Marissa), Rachel Perez (Alonso), Jennifer Fairbanks, Chelsea Brandt (Jeff), and Sarah Gazzillo (Brandon); her mother in law, Marcia Monahan of Comstock; brothers and sisters in law, David Monahan (Dee) of Lake Forest, CA, Kevin Monahan (Melissa) of Gansevoort, Colleen Ricks (Tom) of Fort Ann, and Karen (Donald) of Comstock; she is also remembered by her extended family, Michael Minotto, Crystal Wutzke, and Ayden and Onna Wutzke.

At Noel’s request, there will be no public services.

    My condolences to you with the passing of Noel.
    As you may remember, I met Noel at Albany Public Mkt.
    We had our laughs, like you and I had our laughs.

    My deepest sympathies go out to you, and all the family of Noel. I’m sorry that Noel had to suffer through the last years of her life unable to enjoy life as much as she wanted.
