Lenard “Sippy” Sipowicz

Sipowicz, Lenard 2 Sipowitz, LenardSOUTH GLENS FALLS- Lenard “Sippy” Sipowicz Jr., 52, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at his home on Hudson Avenue in South Glens Falls.

Born on January 9, 1966 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Lenard and Jean (Humiston) Sipowicz, Sr.

Lenard attended Hudson Falls High School and started his career as a delivery driver for Stewart’s and Hudson Falls Produce. He then worked for Pac-TiV in Glens Falls for ten years, before becoming a construction worker for several different companies in the area.

Lenard loved to hunt and fish and was a member of a hunting camp in Stony Creek called “Old Plumber’s Camp.”   He was an avid Yankees fan, in spite of the fact that his family were all Red Sox fans. He was an enthusiastic cook and has been described as a “neat freak.”  Lenard listened to Southern Rock, especially  Lynyrd Skynyrd, but was also known to enjoy Polka music and dance.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Lori Springer and Leann Tefft; and his brother-in-law, Andre Duval.

Survivors include his children, Lauren Middleton and her husband, Joel of Virginia, Kyle Sipowicz  and his girlfriend, Alma of Ho Chi  Minh City, Vietnam; Britneigh Sipowicz of Queensbury; his grandchildren, Jaden, Kaiden and another grandson on the way; his siblings, Lynn Watkins of Hudson Falls, Lisa Bordeau  and her significant other, Jeff Murphy of Hudson Falls, Linda Duval of Hartford and Lawrence Sipowicz also of Hartford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Lenard’s life for his family will be held at Lisa Bordeau’s home at 68 Maple Street in Hudson Falls, on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass.

The family suggests that donations in Lenard’s name be made to The Council for Prevention, 10 Lacross St., # 1, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.

Arrangements are under the care of Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls, NY 12839.

    Sippy, you had a heart of gold and always treated me as “little sister”. Lots of fun times together in “Sippy’s cabin”, Glen Lake, Maple St and of course watching Kyle & Bret play Tiger football.     I always had a soft spot for you sweet cousin…in bad decisions and good. You were a good soul and we certainly had a lot of fun together in our youth.. at Polish weddings, swimming, 4th of July celebrations.. I’m sorry you left this life so soon.
