Frederick B. Hagan

Hagan, FrederickSOUTH GLENS FALLS- Frederick B. Hagan, 86, of South Glens Falls, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Born on August 19, 1931, in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Frederick B. and Ann (Fraser) Hagan.

Following his graduation from Hudson Falls High School, Fred enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country during the Korean War.

On April 10, 1955, Easter Sunday, he married Caroline Inglee at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hudson Falls. She passed away on July 19, 2017, following 62 years of marriage.

Fred was employed at General Electric Company in both Hudson Falls and Fort Edward. He then moved to Alcan Aluminum, where he retired in 1991.

His family was most important to him and together they enjoyed many vacations and gatherings. He leaves behind a legacy that will flourish for an eternity.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers, Jim Hagan, Jack Hagan and George Hagan; his special nephew, Scott Hagan; his great grandson, Donovan Hagan; and his son-in-law, Alan Bahr.

Survivors include his beloved children, Lisa Carruthers and her husband, Warren of Queensbury; Lynn Bahr of South Glens Falls, Diane Cardinale of CA, Daniel Hagan and his wife, Judy of Fulton, Mark Hagan and his wife, Fran of Marrietta, Sean Hagan of South Glens Falls, Douglas Hagan and his wife, Chris of West Monroe and Kerri Hagan and Andy DePalma of Fort Edward; his cherished grandchildren, Melissa (Sean) Quirk. Cambria (David) Carruthers, Lindsay (George) Carruthers, Warren Carruthers (Jess), Eric Bahr, Nicolas (Leah) Bahr, Benjamin Bahr, Ashley Bahr, Lauren (Michael) Cardinale, Christopher Cardinale, Josh (Katie) Hagan, Danielle (Adam) Osborne, Christopher (Keshia) Hagan, Brianna (Spencer) Horton, MacKenzie (Tim) Clark, Marcus (Allegra) Hagan, Kelly (Joe) Bosco, Eric Hagan, Nicholas Hagan, Catie Hagan, Brittany (Bryan) Greco, Rob Hickey and Drew DePalma; his beloved great-grandchildren; Madyson, Ryan, Ava, Lyla, Luca, Lilly, Sage, Leyla, Mila, Lydea, Russell, Mitchell, Tyler, Nathaniel, Aubrie, Ashlyn, Audriana, Jax, Leo, Hunter and Jordan; many nieces, nephews and his sister-in-law, Randy Hagan of CA.

He is also survived by his poker buddies, with some special thanks going out to Whiskey Jim.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal with military honors, provided by American Legion Post 574 of Hudson Falls,  will follow at Mary’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Ave. in the town of Fort Edward.

As Fred always said, “I’ve had a good life.”
