Larry B. Oeinck

Larry OeinckGANSEVOORT- Larry B. Oeinck, 62, of Dimmick Road, passed away after a short illness, on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Saratoga Hospital.

Born on July 17, 1955, in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Earl and Barbara (Bird) Oeinck.

Larry attended South Glens Falls High School and upon graduation in 1973, he went to work at Moreau State Park.  Larry was a groundskeeper at Moreau Park for 37 years, retiring in 2010.   He loved his job because he was always meeting  new people and he could spend most of his days, outdoors.

Larry watched NASCAR regularly, in particular, Richard Petty.  He adored animals, especially his dogs.  Larry was an avid LA Rams football fan and an excellent craftsman and artist, fashioning lawn ornaments out of wood. He was a gentle, caring, generous person, described as an “all around nice guy”, who loved his family dearly.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, JoAnn Oeinck.

Survivors include his three loving sisters, Linda Gilligan of Moreau, Pamela Mercier of Fort Edward and Tracy Snyder of Moreau; his companion, Corleen Bordis of Gansevoort; his nieces, Colleen McDonald, Kelly Gilligan, Tricia Lawson, and Rebecca Osmer; his nephew, Scott Gilligan; and his faithful dog, Max.

Per Larry’s request, there will be no services.

The family suggests that donations in Larry’s name be made to Guiding Eyes for The Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.

Arrangements are under the care of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Sincerest sympathies to all members of Larry Oeinck’s family. Remembering Larry as the ‘little brother’ all those years ago as we were in school and finding it hard to believe time has flown so quickly. Being an only child, I can not pretend to know your grief, but as a friend with many heartfelt memories of days gone by, my heart cries for your loss. Praying your memories help heal the hurt and bring you peace. Wishing I lived closer to you now to give you hugs; sending them in my prayers for y’all.
