Born on November 15, 1944 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of Marguerite (Saunders) Ross and the late Robert Ross, Sr.

Kaye was a graduate of Whitehall High School and then continued her education at the School of Cosmetology in Albany.   She worked as a hairdresser in Ticonderoga for many years.

On July of 1970, Kaye married Perry Salmonson in Whitehall.  After the marriage, her husband built a home in South Glens Falls and added a parlor in the basement so she could do hair at home and also take care of her children.   Kaye also worked at Barber’s Market formerly in South Glens Falls and finally ended her working career at Angio Dynamics in Queensbury.  Every month she enjoyed meeting her friends from Angio for catching up on their lives.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans, hats and scarves for family and friends.  Kaye also used her creativity and made several afghans for the South High Marathon Dance.   In the last 15 years, Kaye took up painting and was known to paint on just about anything.   Some of her creations were on birdhouses, mailboxes and dishes.  She was a very generous person and gave away many of her beautiful paintings.   For the past six years,  Kaye along with her brother, Edward, devoted herself fulltime to the loving care of her mother, Marguerite, in Whitehall.

Besides her father, Kaye was predeceased by her son, Lloyd Salmonson, and her brother, Donald Ross.

Survivors include her daughter, Carla Salmonson of Gansevoort; her ex-husband and good friend, Perry Salmonson of Gansevoort; her mother, Marguerite Ross; her two brothers, Edward Ross of Whitehall and Robert Ross and his wife, Sandra of Milford, Delaware; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

What do you do when you lose your friend?
What do you do when you lose your love?
How do you say goodbye when its time
How do you find the words?

What makes us saddest knowing their gone
    What takes away the pain?
What makes us think we will ever know?
How do we heal the loss?

Perry and Carla, My sister called and gave me this awful news. Kaye was a special person to all who she befriended. I know that all those who worked with her, were filled with admiration. She leaves behind many broken hearts, but there is no doubt that she is in a place that is reserved only for those who have lived such a gracious life. I wish for you all the strength you need to guide you at this terrible time in your life.
