Harriet “Hattie” M. Jones

Jones, HarriotHUDSON FALLS – Harriet “Hattie” M. Jones, 86, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 25, 2016.

Born on July 2, 1929 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Pike) Leggett.

Harriet married Robert F. Jones, Sr.  and spent 58 ½ wonderful years with him until his death in 2005.

Harriet was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church in Hudson Falls and also a member of the Red Hat Society in Whitehall.  She was devoted to her family and loved their Sunday dinners together.   Harriet also enjoyed crocheting, traveling, coloring and dancing to “Proud Mary”.   She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Besides her parents and husband, Harriet was predeceased by her sisters, Evelyn Leggett, Jane Gordon, and her brother, Marshall Gordon.

She leaves behind her children, Barbara Bell of Greenwich, Bobby Jones,  and his wife, Alice of Granville, Linda Barrett and her husband, Tim of Fort Ann and Lisa Miner and her husband, Dan of Glens Falls; 12 grandchildren, Shari Bell, Stacy Pugh, Stephanie Hutton, Teresa Jones, Jennifer Bouchard, Chase Robinson, Artie King, Steve Babson II, Sean Babson, Sarah Gorthey, Joshua Coffee and Chris King; her 18 great-grandchildren, Matt, Josh and Zach Moses, Jordan and Julia Pugh, Olivia and Jackson Hutton, Cody Jones, Amber, Katie and Audri Getty, Aaron Bouchard, Stephen “Trey” Babson III and his soon to be born sibling, Sophia, Thomas, ReesAnn and Logan Gorthey; her sister, Ruth “Rudy” Borden and her husband, Francis of Huletts Landing ; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY  12205.
