Kathleen “Kathy” Vaughn

Vaugh,KathyHUDSON FALLS – Kathleen “Kathy” Vaughn, 58, formerly of River Street, took the Lord’s hand on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, surrounded by her sisters, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 5, 1958 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Nellie (Ydikoski) Vaughn of Glens Falls and the late Harold E. Vaughn.

She loved going to CWI workshop where she met many friends.   Kathy later attended the Park Club where she enjoyed the many trips and the fun opportunities that they provided.  Kathy could put a smile on everyone’s face that no one could resist.  She loved taking walks, dancing to any kind of music, shopping with her sisters and watching General Hospital.

Besides her father, Kathy was predeceased by her niece, Kelly Ann Burns and her brother in law, Jack Deyette.

Survivors include her loving mother, Nellie Vaughn of Glens Falls; her three sisters, Patricia Deyette of Hudson Falls, Diane Murray and her husband, Fonsie of Hudson Falls and Carol Basilio and her husband, Dominic of Queensbury; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank the staff in the ICU at Glens Falls Hospital, the Corinth House staff, the staff at Fort Hudson A-wing, the Park Club staff and her special friend, Lois for the wonderful care and friendship given to Kathy.

Friends may call on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at St. Mary’s/ St. Paul’s Church on the park in Hudson Falls, with the Reverend Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow the Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Edward.

Memorial donations in memory of Kathy may be made to National Down Syndrome Society, 666 Broadway, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10012.
