FORT EDWARD – Dorothy Roods Nolin, 87, went to be with her eternal family, especially her son, John, on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 26, 1926, in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Amos J. and Effie J. (Hesketh) Roods.

Ms. Nolin was a 1944 graduate of Fort Edward High School.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/ St. Paul’s Church in HudsonFalls.

Dorothy’s first love was her family.  She enjoyed Popit on the Ipad, and watching her Yankee’s games and NASCAR races.  She also enjoyed the Game Show Network and the Casino.  Most of all, she loved getting together with family, her grandchildren and family vacations.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one son, John M. Nolin, her three brothers, Chester, Raymond and Howard Roods and two sisters, Elsie and Doris, and her son in law, Keith.

Survivors include three sons, William A. Nolin, Jr., and his wife, Dina of Fort Edward, Timothy J. Nolin and his wife, Kelly of South Glens Falls and Michael D. Nolin and his significant other, Rosie and her son, Brady of Hudson Falls; her three daughters, Susan J. Georgia of Glens Falls, Debra E. Nolin and her significant other, Joe Savoia, Jr., of Fort Edward and Jo Ann Carpenter and her husband, Michael of South Glens Falls; and three grandchildren, Jeremy John Nolin, Britney Nolin and Nathan Nolin.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m.  on Thursday, April 25, 2013,  at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in HudsonFalls.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

The family suggests memorials in the form of donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, 959 Rte 9, Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, NY 12804 or the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 226, Fort Edward, NY 12828 or the Moreau Emergency Squad, 1583 Route 9, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

Dorothy’s family would like to express their special thanks to all her caregivers, Missy, Karen, Marsha, Michelle and Johnnah, she loved you all.
