William “Billy” George Cox,

GREENWICH – William “Billy” George Cox, 85, of Greenwich passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility.

Born on October 27, 1933 in Brandon, New York, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Clark) Cox.

Billy graduated from Brushton Moira School.

He was a United States Army Veteran, who served from 1953 to 1961.

Billy was a member of Local 773 Plumbers and Pipefitters in Queensbury. He loved the outdoors, especially hiking. He hiked the Appalachian trail and was an Adirondack 46’er. His passion was music. He enjoyed bluegrass music and square dancing. Billy also loved to sing and even had a few songs copyrighted. With his passion for music, he also played many instruments such as the guitar, autoharp, fiddle, and banjo.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by nine siblings.

Survivors include his four children, William J. Cox “Skeeter” of Greenwich, Allen E. Cox of Ballston Spa, Laura J. Bradley and her husband, Robert of South Glens Falls, Amy J. Horton and her husband, Jeff of Greenwich; his nine grandchildren, five siblings and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Graveside Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
