Ann S. Wells

Wells, AnnHUDSON FALLS – Ann S. Wells, 70, of Hudson Falls, went into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at her home, with her family by her side.

Born on August 12, 1947 in Lake George, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice Wells.

Ann loved children, laughter and looking at photo’s.  She enjoyed the most simple things of life that most people take for granted.  Ann loved listening to music and dancing.  The center of her life was being around family and enjoying their visits.   Most people will remember her as always having a smile on her face.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Samuel Wells.

Survivors include her brother, Arthur Well of Argyle, Joseph Wells also of Argyle and William Wells of Hudson Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.     Prayers will be offered at 7:45 p.m. by Rev. Larry Cooper.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Bentley Audley-Thomas Wells-Sartoris

HUDSON FALLS – Bentley Audley-Thomas Wells-Sartoris, went into the arms of the Lord, three days after his birth on September 22, 2016.

Born on September 19, 2016, he was the son of Adam Wells and Brooke Sartoris.

Bentley lived for only three days, but he forever touched the hearts of those who love him.  He fought hard to live but God had other plans.  Bentley’s parents and the rest of his family will always cherish the short time they spent with him.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Thomas Stone, his great grandfather, Audley Fish and his great aunt, Carol Rich.

Survivors include his parents, Brooke Sartoris and Adam Wells, both of Hudson Falls; his brothers and sisters, Carson Sartoris, Lauryn Sartoris, Jordann Sartoris, Ella Sartoris, Gabryle Sartoris, Collin Voegtling and Oakleigh Wells-Sartoris; maternal grandparents, John Colvin and Billie Colvin; paternal grandmother, Peggy Wells; great grandmothers, Nancy Fish and Wilma Haynes; his nana, Melissa Hermance; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Paul Joseph Wells

wellsFORT ANN – Paul Joseph Wells, 28, of Dewey’s Bridge Road, passed away as a result of an automobile accident on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.

Born on November 16, 1987, in Easton, PA, he was the son of Gloria (Beaumont) Wells and the late Frank Wells.

Paul was a 2005 graduate of Fort Ann Central School. While he was a student, Paul was a member of the Technical National Honor Society and the National Honor Society.  He continued his education at SUNY Adirondack and received his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts in 2008.

Paul began his culinary career at The Glen in Queensbury and continued as a chef at the former Gavel Grill in Hudson Falls.  He was currently employed as Assistant Manager at Primal Meat Store in Saratoga Springs.  Paul’s dream was to open his own restaurant and butcher shop combo.

While in school, he was a boy scout and became an accomplished archer.   He loved archery and won many trophies at tournaments.  Paul also enjoyed shooting billiards with his father.   He was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting with his friends.

Paul had a big heart and wanted to help others.   At the age of 12, shortly after 9/11, he raised $19,000 for the Kids for Kids Camp.  This was a camp that helped kids that lost their parents during 9/11.  Not only did he raise money, but alongside his father, he worked at the camp as a counselor.

Paul gave life his all and had a drive that couldn’t be matched.  If he wanted it, he would work hard to get it.  He was a kind, compassionate person, who loved his mother deeply.  Paul had a strong will that enabled him to reach is goals.  He also had a quirky sense of humor, just like his father.  Paul was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by his family and all his friends.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his grandmothers, Mary Mathison and Theresa Trello Wells, his aunt Elizabeth “Boo” O’Neill and his uncle, Joseph Wells.

Survivors include his loving mother, Gloria Wells of Fort Ann; his aunts, Joyce Grace and her husband, Al of Triangle, Virginia and Theresa Vierschilling and her husband, Paul; his uncle, Paul Jon Wells and his companion, Jackie Kegan; his cousins, Virginia Hughes and her husband, James, Kelsey Grace, Collen Cole and her husband, Andrew, Christine Mott and her husband, Tom, Tracey Drange and her husband, Mikal, Anthony O’Neill and his partner, Michelle, Christopher O’Neill and his wife, Nareeza, Lisa Doherty and her husband, Pat, Mark Wells, Jason Wells, Joe Wells;  his longtime friends, Christopher Blackmer, Jared Roberts and Kadyn Granger; his family friends, Buddy Blackmer and his wife, Jean and their children of Fort Ann and Scott Baldwin and his wife, Judy and their children, of Argyle; and close friends, Leslie and Wayne Rizzo and Marge and Dennis Baker.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, from 12 to 1:30 pm at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow at 1:30 pm at the funeral Home, with the Reverend Flossie Gage Bates, officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

John Stephen Wells, Sr.

Wells. JohnSOUTH GLENS FALLS – John Stephen Wells, Sr., 67, of South Glens Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at St. Peter’s Hospice on Albany.

Born on July 13, 1947, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Lillian (Pease) Wells, Sr.

John’s wife, Carolyn Wells, passed away on December 11, 1995.

For many years John was a dairy farmer, working the farm with his wife until 1994.  He then worked for Duke Concrete for several years.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan and was a huge WWE wrestling enthusiast.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Florida and was active in the Dick Ladd Square Dance Association.

In addition to his wife and parents, John is predeceased by a brother, Joseph Wells and a sister, Linda Blake.

Survivors include a son, John S. Wells, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Hudson Falls and a daughter, Valerie L. Wells of Hudson Falls; his step-children Gena Wells and Becky; his grandchildren, Brittany Porlier, Glenn Hurd, Jr., Koreena Hurd, Shyanne Hurd, Lucas Hurd, Stephen Wells and Tiana Wells; his step grandchildren Harley Wells  and Aaron Wells;his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Wells, Jr., Wayne Wells, James Wells, Patricia Wells-Cook , Ellen DeRusha, Joan Heustis and Marlene Wells; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Following the calling hours, all are welcome to a gathering at Val’s home.

A graveside service will take place in the spring at Morningside Cemetery in the town of Hartford.
