Dorothy M. Ringer

QUEENSBURY – Dorothy M. Ringer, 97, formerly of Queensbury, went into the arms of her husband and the Lord, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Fort Hudson Health Care Center in Fort Edward.

Born on April 3, 1921, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Edith (Mondoux) Hart.

Dorothy spent eight years at St. Alphonsus School in Glens Falls and four years at Glens Falls High School, where she graduated in 1939.

On Sept. 22, 1940, she married Harold L. Ringer in St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. They spent the next 47 years of marriage residing at 16 LaBarge St. in Hudson Falls. He passed away on October 24, 2000, after celebrating 60 wonderful years.

Dorothy worked for 30 years at Imperial Paper Co. which became Hercules, Inc and finally Ciba Geigy, Inc. of Queensbury.  In 1983, she retired from there as an administrative assistant.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and a member of St. Anne’s Sodality and The Martha’s at that church.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Harold L. Ringer, she was predeceased by two sons, Thomas Ringer and James Ringer; one daughter, Barbara Short; a son-in-law, Rusty Graham; and three brothers, Edward, Albert and Elmer Hart.

Survivors include, a son, Daniel A. Ringer and his wife, Kathy, of Queensbury;  her daughters,  Donna M. Graham, of Hudson Falls, Cynthia J. Ward and her husband, Michael, of Hilton and Anne M. Palmer and her husband, Michael, of Hudson Falls and a sister-daughter, Beverly Brown and her husband, Thomas, of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Theresa Redmond, Arthur Ringer, Patricia Belden, James Ringer, Scott Ringer, Tammy Steans, Larry Short, Jason Short, Mary Graham, Michelle Hurlburt, Michael Graham, Dianne Cantiello, Abe Ringer, Jenessa Purchiaron, Jesse Ringer, Jake Ringer, Adrienne Knapp, Ken Hayes, Kelly Smith, Christina Ward, Jonathan Ward, Brianna Palmer, Joe Palmer, Steve Brown, Sue Brown Castro, Lisa Sperry, Heath Mundell and Josh Mundell; 41 great-grandchildren plus one due in September; 7 great-great-grandchildren; her daughters-in-law, Loretta Ringer, of Hudson Falls and Lenore Ringer, of Lake George; a son-in-law, Wayne Short, of Leesburg, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. at 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will take place later in the spring at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
