Mary Jane Mingo

Mingo, Mary Jane younger pictureBALLSTON SPA-Mary Jane (Harris) Mingo, 92, of Ballston Spa, passed away peacefully on Thursday Jan. 4, 2018 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

She was born on June 15, 1925 in Glens Falls.

In 1946, she married her beloved husband Kenneth Mingo, in New York City.  He died on Aug. 16, 2004, after 58 years of wedded bliss.

Mary Jane was an entrepreneur, owning a successful restaurant as well as dealing in antiques. She was an avid history buff, who loved to research American Indian culture. Her favorite pastime was listening to the news as she enjoyed keeping up with current events.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, sisters and her grandson Jeffrey.

She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Ruff of Ballston Spa, her son Kenneth Mingo of Ballston Spa, four grandchildren, Joseph Ruff and his wife Tammy, Chrystal Emery and her husband Fred, Mary Lou Jackson and her husband Jeffery, Kenneth L. Ruff and his wife Sophie, sixteen grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, her sisters Ida Mae and Bertha Towns, her brother Harold Harris and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At the request of the family, there will be no public services.

Burial will take place in the spring.

Memorial donations may be made to the Charles R. Wood Cancer Center c/o Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY.

Andrew (Andy) Paul Mingo Jr.

Mingo, AndrewHUDSON FALLS – Andrew (Andy) Paul Mingo Jr., 41, of Hudson Falls passed away unexpectedly at 3:30 a.m. on November 3rd, 2017, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Andy was born at Glens Falls Hospital on January 24th, 1976 to Andrew Mingo Sr, and Barbara Saville.

Andy and his wife Virginia Sharpe-Mingo were high school sweet hearts and married on September 4th, 2005. They went on to have two children; a son Dustin Mingo age 22 born April 1st, 1995 and a daughter Mattison Mingo age 12 born January 10th, 2005.

Andy was employed at Finch Pruyn for much of his life, and then was fortunate enough to do what he loved, which was working in his garage on motorcycles, dirt bikes, and anything else with a motor. Andy had many endearing qualities, but most will remember him for his big heart. He was a loving, devoted father who spent most of his time with his sidekick daughter Matti, and son and best friend Dustin teaching them how to ride motorcyles. He spread his love and passion for motorcycles and dirt bikes to everyone he knew. His children have followed in his footsteps also with a love for two wheels.

He spent much of his time playing with his pitbull Isis (Goddess of Fertility) who unconditionally loved him along with his family.

Andy was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Pauline Shores, maternal grandfather Robert Shores, paternal grandmother Bea Mingo, and nephew Dominique D’Angelico.

Andy is survived by his wife, Virginia Sharpe-Mingo; his son, Dustin Mingo; his daughter, Mattison Mingo; his mother, Barbara Saville (Van Sanborn); his father, Andrew Mingo Sr.; his brother Jason Mingo (Courtney Bollman); his sister, Tiffany (Adam) D’Angelico; as well as many aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins and extended family.

There will be calling hours at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls on Saturday, November 11th from 1:00pm — 3:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at ADK MX located at 10709 NY-149, Fort Ann starting at 5:00pm.
