Jane “Janie” (LaMay) Turner

MOREAU – Jane “Janie” (LaMay) Turner, 82, formerly of Hudson Falls passed away on March 29, 2019, with her loving family by her side.

Born on December 2, 1936 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. LaMay, who died in 1965 and the late Helen F. (Barton) LaMay Cutting, who passed away in 2005.

Janie was a 1954 graduate of Whitehall High School.

She was a waitress at Scott’s Dairy Bar and at the Silver Diner, both in Whitehall and the B & C Bowling Lane in Hudson Falls. Janie was also employed at a coat factory in Whitehall for several years, General Electric Company in Hudson Falls and also as a real estate agent for Ed Churchill Realty of South Glens Falls.   At one time, Janie was an apartment manager for Roselli Apartments and later for Webster Management Company.

She loved to travel with her family and friends to Foxwood and Bally’s in Atlantic City.  Janie loved being by the ocean and walking the beach.  She has always been there for her family.  Janie also loved cooking for them, even though some of her relatives never gave back the Tupperware.  Janie’s loved ones were the center of her life.  She also enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog, Maisy.   At one time, Janie was active in the Merry Mohican’s Square and Round Dance Club.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Earl E. Turner, who passed away in 1999; her grandson, Devin Colon, who died in 1990; her step father, Dick C. Cutting, who died in 2000; her aunts, Jane John, Grace Cuomo and her husband Tom and Irene Underhill and her husband, Earl; and her beloved nephew, Thomas J. Jones.

Survivors include her best friend and her rock, Raymond Butler of Queensbury; her two daughters, Tami L. Isdell Tedesco of South Glens Falls and Stacy A. Isdell Montalvo and her companion, Bill Kirby of the town of Thurman; her son, Robert D. Isdell of the town of Moreau; her loving sister, Lorraine Bowen and her husband, Robert of Hudson Falls; her seven grandchildren, Christie Tomala of Kingsbury, Robby Colon of the town of Moreau, Renee Bardin of Hebron, Michael Colon of Queensbury, Christian Colon of Queensbury, Evan Colon of Argyle and Natasja Montalvo of the town of Moreau; her great grandchildren, Ryan Powers, Hayden Tomala and Savannah Bell; her two grand nephews, Thomas P. Jones and Patrick Jones, both of Glens Falls; and several cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday April 4, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will follow the calling hours at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with the Chaplain Brian Dykema, officiating.
