Manley James Hayes, Jr.

Hayes, ManleyHUDSON FALLS – Manley James “Jim” Hayes Jr., 74, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital, with his children by his side.

He was born on April 30, 1943, to Manley James Hayes Sr. and Helen Maples Hayes, in Glens Falls, and is preceded in death by their passings, and also by his infant son Michael James.

He married Denise Dianne Pruett (now Seely) on May 26, 1978, and together they served as missionaries for 25 years, spreading the gospel of Christ as they planted over 15 churches throughout southern Africa.

Jim took pride in his volunteer work with various police and fire departments as an EMT during his younger days and was able to connect with people in a personal way that few had the ability to do.

He was always known for his jokes and for being a good-natured prankster. In more recent times, he enjoyed playing computer games, eating at Golden Corral, and rooting for the New York Giants.

He is survived by his former wife, Denise Seely and her husband, Bob; his daughter, Tami Hills fiancé, Dominick, Tami’s daughters, Taylor and Karlee and Taylor’s daughter, Rylee; his son, James Dennis Hayes, wife Cassandra and children Eli, Eva and Daniel; his daughter, Jamie Bovair, husband Garrett, and children Eamon, Andre, Marcus, Roman, Julianna and Emma; his daughter Jennifer Lucille Lobb, husband Mark, and children, Noah and Amelia; and many brothers and sisters scattered across the United States.

Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a prayer service and brief time of reflection on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. Graveside services will be private.

His family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Glens Falls Hospital, specifically the dialysis nurses who spent so much time with him over the last few years.
