Grace A. LaSarso

HUDSON FALLS- Grace A. LaSarso, 95, a long time resident of Parry Street, gained her Angel Wings on Friday, November 23, 2018. at Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born on August 7, 1923, in Tupper Lake, NY, she was the seventh child of the late Ernest and Mary (Bishop) Root.

On December 1, 1945, she married Angelo E. LaSarso, at St.  Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and They had 63 Wonderful Years of Marriage.

After 24 years of employment, she retired from Steinbach’s of Queensbury, in 1991.

Our “Mother Amazing Grace” was an inspiration to many cancer patients because of her strength battling breast cancer on two different occasions as she was a 50-year survivor.

In addition to being a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls, She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Choir. Grace’s Major Enjoyment was being with Her Children, Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren, who Adored Her! Last but, not least, She loved watching the New York Yankees together with her husband, Angelo.

Her other interests included shopping for her family, her religious faith, reading, music, bingo and collecting Boyd Bears.

In addition to Her Parents and Husband, Angelo, Grace was predeceased by her Ten Root brothers, Francis, Clarence, Dennis, Donald, Ernest, Maurice, William, Lawrence, Kenneth and Thomas; and her Seven sisters, Margaret Sullivan, Patricia Root, Eleanor Rickborn, Catherine Holley, Elizabeth Leroux, Noreen Conley and Colleen Gerouard; and her son-in-law, John W. Thompson.

Left to cherish Her Memory are Her two daughters, Gail Marie LaSarso Holleran and her husband, Michael of Lakeland, Florida and Carol Ann Thompson of Queensbury; one son, Timothy J. LaSarso and his wife, Melanie of Hudson Falls; 9 beautiful Grandchildren, Sara Grace Lawhon (Mike) Ryan Barlow (Lindsey), Bethanie Crawford (Ashanni), Courtney Bagley (Eric), Ellen Barlow (Joe), Jessica Palange (John), Tyler Thompson (Meghan), Nicholas LaSarso (Julie)  and Timothy LaSarso, Jr.; 18 Beloved Great Grandchildren, Kearstin, Madison, Gavin, Gracie, Brody, Jaxon, Colson, Reece, Mia, Sofia, Lanie, Wyatt, Linkon, Brayden, Logan, Charlotte, Cole and Spencer; 5 Sister-in-Laws, Irene, Rita, Micheline, Linda and Margaret; and many special nieces and nephews.

A Special Thank You to all the wonderful staff at Fort Hudson for their loving care that was provided for the past 6 years. Grace greatly appreciated the love and friendship from All who she interacted with in her day.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 26, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., at 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at St. Mary’s/ St. Paul’s Church on the Park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the Town of Fort Edward.

Following services, all are welcome to a reception at the Idle Hour Club  on Roger’s Island in Fort Edward.
