Frank DeLuke, Sr

DeLukeHUDSON FALLS formerly of DUANESBURG – Frank DeLuke, Sr., 89, of Hudson Falls, formerly of Duanesburg, passed into the arms of the Lord, at Glens Falls Hospital on August 27, 2014.

Born March 9, 1925, in Duanesburg in the family farmhouse, he was the son of the late John and Teresa (Palmeri) DeLuke.

Frank was a 1943 graduate of Delanson High School in Duanesburg.

On July 23, 1960, Frank married Carole Szarafinski at St. Adalbert’s in Schenectady.

For over 60 years Frank was a member of the Operating Engineers AFL- CIO Local 106 International Union of Albany as an Operating Engineer and also for Schenectady County Highway Department. For many years he was a volunteer fireman for Duanesburg. He was a member of the Elks #2157 of Rotterdam for over 23 years. During WWII he served in the U.S. Civil Defence Corp in Schenectady County.

Frank enjoyed his work, fishing, going to county fairs, spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and boating on Sacandaga Lake with his brother in law, Herbert Bell.   He was very proud of his grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara DeLuke; his sisters, Antionette Nielsen and Anna Bell and his brothers, Anthony DeLuke and James DeLuke.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carole DeLuke of Hudson Falls; his children, Jeffrey DeLuke and his wife, Sheila of Mississippi, Frank DeLuke and his wife, Maureen of South Glens Falls; his grandchildren Logan DeLuke and his wife, Amanda, Levi DeLuke, Carson DeLuke, Xavier DeLuke, Aidan DeLuke, and his buddy, Lila DeLuke; his siblings, Nancy Tucker, Mary DeLuke, Margaret Gilday and her husband, James, Ethel Agresta and her husband, Ernest, John DeLuke and his wife, Trudy; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A family viewing will be private.

The Rite of Committal will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 100 Kings Road in Schenectady.

Donations in memory of Frank can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
