HUDSON FALLS – Constance Jean (Barney) DePalo, 94, passed peacefully into her Savior’s presence on December 1st, 2016, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Connie will be remembered by all for her love of children and great sense of humor.

Born on June 15th, 1922, to Leonard J. and Helene (Flynn) Barney. Connie graduated from Hudson Falls High School class of 1940. She went on to marry Patrick DePalo in 1944, they remained married until his passing in 2009. Together they raised six daughters.

Connie was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Dolan, younger brother, Leonard Jr. (Duff) Barney, and her BFF Maxine Binetti.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan DePalo, Barbara Comstock (Keith), Mary Joan Baggot (Richard), Patricia DePalo, and Connie Steele; her sister-in-law, Rose Barney; grandchildren, Amy and Alison Steele, Christopher Dolen (Callie), Dr. Michael Dolen (Erin), Angela Lizotte, Rachel Lazic (Dan), Kaitlin Watkins (Brad), and Kenneth Comstock; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Her greatest gifts were patience, being a great sport, and her gracious hospitality. Connie loved athletics. In her early days, she was involved in all the athletics that a young woman could participate in and remained an avid sports fan throughout her life. She skated competitively, was a cheerleader, and was a championship golfer and bowler. Everyone was always welcome in her home. Her delight in little ones remained until the end, it’s a legacy that she passed onto her children and grandchildren. Her friendly personality, unending patience, generosity, and understated loved will be missed by many.

As per Connie’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Masses in Connie’s name will be announced.
