Ramona J. Pratt

Pratt, RamonaGLENS FALLS – Ramona J. Pratt, 85, of Stichman Towers, went into the arms of the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on August 11, 1928, at home in Brant Lake, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Clara M. (Hayes) Hill.

On September 9, 1945, she married Charles I. Pratt in Hudson Falls.  He passed away in September of 1978, after 33 years of marriage.

For several years, she worked for Native Textiles, formerly in Glens Falls, retiring in 1990.

Ramona enjoyed sewing and knitting quilts for family and friends.  She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Gospel Lighthouse Church and the Hudson Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 574.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Charles R. Pratt, her brothers, Winnie Hill, Percy Hill, Fred Hill and Lawrence Hill and her sisters, Edna Pyle, Thelma Odell and Letha Hill.

She is survived by her children, Larry I. Pratt and his finance, Shirley Duncan, Clara S. Packard and her husband, Sam, Lorraine Bruce, Troy Pratt and his significant other, Cindy Moon; her sister, Stella Schenck; daughter in law, Elizabeth Pratt; brothers in law, Henry Pratt, Nelson Pratt, Eugene Pratt and Terry Pratt; sisters in law, Shirley Sawyer and Josephine Hill; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

At Ramona’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A gathering for family and friends will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574, Pearl Street in Hudson Falls.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, Inc., PO Box 226, Fort Edward, NY 12828 or a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
