Joseph S. Farinelli

HUDSON FALLS – Joseph S. Farinelli, 81, went into the arms of the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Elderwood in Ticonderoga, after a battle with dementia.

Born on June 1, 1942 in Albany, he was the son of the late Anthony and Rose (Clouse) Farinelli.

Joseph was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in 1960.  He then attended Albany Business College, earning his Associates Degree in Business.

In 1963, Joseph enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He proudly served his country until 1969.

Joseph met his companion, Patricia Sheehan, at work in 1996 at Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, he retired from there in 2003.

He was a lifelong resident of Coeymans and a Communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Ravena. Joseph enjoyed fly fishing in the Catskills and hunting throughout the Albany area.  He also had a passion for photography.  He loved photographing nature, historic sights and people, with his 35mm camera.  He was also an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant twin brother, John Farinelli.

He is survived by his companion of 27 years, Patricia Sheehan of Hudson Falls; her children, Jamie Arlington of Queensbury, Brian Snowball of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Courtney Arlington and her fiancé, Sidney Hewitt of Rotterdam and Cass Arlington of Queensbury; and his extended Sheehan family.

Friends may call from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls

The Rite of Committal will be conducted 1 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Coeymans, with full military honors.

Joseph’s family would like to give their special thanks to Pat’s sister, Barbara Sheehan, for her support during Joseph’s stay in Ticonderoga.
