Jeff Cote

MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA – Jeff Cote, 57, a longtime resident of Glens Falls, died unexpectedly at his home in Myrtle Beach on Sunday, February 14, 2016.

Born in Glens Falls on September 5, 1958, he was the son of Richard and Sharon Cote of Little River, South Carolina.

Jeff graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1976 and then enlisted in the US Navy.  He proudly served his country for four years, while stationed in Norfolk, VA.

Jeff was employed as a corrections officer for 12 years at Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock and at one time, was a machine operator at SCA Tissue in South Glens Falls.

He was an avid golfer who loved watching NASCAR racing, especially following Jeff Gordon.  Jeff was a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan.  He loved the outdoors.  Jeff enjoyed the sun and taking morning walks every day along the beach.  He had a wonderful personality whose constant smile was contagious. Jeff was the life of the party.  His greatest joy was watching his kids play sports, while they were growing up.

Survivors besides his parents, include his two children, Josh Cote and his girlfriend, Danika Hajeck of Queensbury and Lindsey Cote and her fiancé, Nick Barton of Wilton; the mother of his children, Valerie Cote of Fort Edward; his siblings, Reggie Cote of Lake George, Michelle Sheerer and her husband, Keith of Hudson Falls, Richard Cote and his wife, Ann of Little River, SC and Suzanne Cote and her fiancé, Denny of Peach Tree City, GA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will follow the calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday.

Memorial donations in Jeff’s memory may be made to VETHELP, 1214 Saratoga Road, Ballston Spa, New York 12020.
