GLENS FALLS – George H. Miller, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at the Glens Falls Hospital.  He died just one day short of his 69th birthday.

Born on February 23, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Rhoda Miller.

George served in the U.S. Navy for 3 years aboard the U.S.S. Boxer CV21 Aircraft Carrier.  He worked for International Paper in Mobile Alabama for 34 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post # 574 and the Color Guard in Hudson Falls.

He loved NASCAR and was a member of the Junior Nation.  He enjoyed fishing, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being with his family and friends.

Most recently he resided in the Adirondack Manor

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Rhoda Miller, the mother of his children, Amanda and his brother in law, Buzz Hunter.

His survivors include his children, Julie (Paul Hand) of Bay Minette Alabama, Jason (Annesia) Miller of Wilmer Alabama and Christian Miller of Bay Minette, Alabama; his grand-daughters, Jade Gibson of Bay Minette Alabama; his grandsons Tristan and Justin Thomas Miller; his sister, Mary Hunter of Glens Falls, Wanda (Bill) McLaughlin of Gansevoort; his niece Tammy Heckenberg; his nephews, Scott and Nicholas Miller, Glenn (Patty) Hunter of Orlando, Florida; and a very special Aunt, Martha Miller of Fort Edward; and several cousins.

At his request there will be no calling hours.

He will be interred in the Gerald B. H. Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of the Glens Falls Hospital, who took such good care of him and family and the Adirondack Manor for their care and love.

Memorial donations may be sent the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574, 92 Pearl Street in Hudson Falls.

    Mary, Wanda, Tammy and Glenn, We are so very sorry for the loss of your brother and your uncle. It’s so very hard to have a sibling pass away and I certainly know well how much it hurts regardress of age. Please know that I’m praying for George”s family. He is in so much of a better place now.
