Edith “Edie” Titchen

TitchenHUDSON FALLS – Edith “Edie” Titchen, 89, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility in Fort Edward.

Born May 12, 1925, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes Maxwell.

Edith was a wonderful mother to her 3 daughters and many, many of their friends.  She was a worthy matriarch with an incredible sense of humor and a heart of gold. She lived in California, Florida, New York City, New Hampshire, Honolulu (1959-82) and returned to her home town of Glens Falls in 1982.

Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her brothers Fred and Tommy Maxwell and her sisters Lillian Sullivan and Charlotte Hart.

Survivors include her three daughters, Denise Carpenter of Florida, Carol Yee and her husband, Melvin of Hawaii, Leilani Studenka and her husband, James of Hudson Falls; her six grandchildren, Camille Colegrove, Isaiah Carpenter, Emily Carpenter, Annelise Yee, Alexei Studenka, Nat Yee; her four great grandchildren, Adrianna and Ashley Colegrove, Tyler and Brody Shaw; as well as her dog, Winston.

A private burial will be held by the family at the Moss Street Cemetery, in the town of Kingsbury.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fort Hudson Health Care Facility, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, New York 12828, where Edith received loving care.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.
