Duane “Tony” Dubay

GLENS FALLS – Duane “Tony” Dubay, 79, a longtime Glens Falls resident, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at The Pines in Glens Falls.

Born on February 28, 1933, in Kingsbury, he was the son of the late Roy John and Iva (Dudley) Dubay.

He was a 1952 graduate of Fort Edward High School.

Tony served with the National Guard out of the Glens Falls Armory in the early 50’s, as soon as he got out of high school.

On September 11, 1954, he married Diane Shea at St. Alphonsus Church, formerly in Glens Falls.

He worked as a mechanic for JR Earl & Sons Ford in Lake George and was a longtime self employed master mechanic at “Tony’s Garage” in Glens Falls.

Tony was a hard working man.  He was a member of the independent Order of the Odd Fellows in South Glens Falls, a Pack Master of the Cub Scouts in Glens Falls and a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church, formerly in Glens Falls.  He will be sadly missed by family, friends and his customers.  He was a quiet and gentle man who never really retired.  His customers were considered his friends.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Donald, Jack and Almond.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diane (Shea) Dubay of Glens Falls; his children, Karen Dubay and her companion, Eileen Sullivan of Whitehall, Kevin Dubay of San Antonio, TX, Suzanne Beddia and her husband Rodney of York, PA and Marianne Baker and her husband, Tracey of Tavares, FL; two sisters, Frances Gugliotta of Eustis FL and Pearl Tallini of Hudson Falls; His grandchildren, Michael Dubay, Heather McEwen, Adam Beddia, Nicole Beddia, Joshua Dubay, Gina Primeau, Christina Primeau, Sierra Primeau, Trey Baker and Stacey Baker; two great-grandchildren, Shelby Wagnon and Bryndon Wagnon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Carleton Funeral Home, inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105  or the charity of one’s choice
