HUDSON FALLS – Donald Lawrence “Duck” Vaughn, 66, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Westchester Medical Center after a long illness.
Born on September 10, 1956 in Murfreesboro, TN, he was a long time area resident and son of the late Donald LeRoy and Blanche Pearl (Olsteen) Vaughn. Duck drove truck for many years for Lincoln Logs Log Homes in Lake George. He also worked installing pools for several years. Duck was an exceptional mechanic and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles and collected Native American items and memorabilia.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Tina Parker; and an aunt, Mary Lou “Mimi” Goodson.
He is survived by his children, Jessica Mattison of Hudson Falls, Anthony Vaughn of Glens Falls, Cody Vaughn of Hudson Falls, Michelle Cooper (Brandon) of Queensbury, and Michael Vaughn (Lindsey) of Glens Falls; several grandchildren; his companion, Lynn Morehouse and her children, Alicia and Devon; many nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends and “adopted children”.
Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all who helped them through this difficult time, especially Kimberly Thatcher who was always there when they needed her, and the staff and doctors at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.
