David C. Waters, Sr.

GLENS FALLS – David C. Waters, Sr., 83, of Warren Street in Glens Falls, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Pines Nursing Home.

Born on November 24, 1938, in Granville, he was the son of the late Clarence and Florence Waters.

David served in active service in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1960.  He served on the USS John Paul Jones during his tour of duty. After he was honorably discharged, he  served an additional four years in the United States Navy Reserves.

On December 5, 1959, he married, Sandra Hall at the Granville United Methodist Church.  Sandra passed on December 31, 2015.  David and Sandra were devout members of the Granville United Methodist Church up until their passing.

David worked for many years at Hercules, Inc., in Queensbury as well as maintenance for Glens Falls National Bank.  He enjoyed assembling puzzles with his wife, and hunting, fishing and woodworking.  David loved to make birdhouses and furniture.  He will be remembered his great sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, James Waters; a daughter, Karen Waters Hettie, his brothers, Donald Waters and Ken Waters and his sisters, Catherine Waters.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Underwood and her husband, Ralph of Schaghticoke and Denise Peculis of Whitehall; his sons, David Waters, Jr. and his wife, Emelia of Lake Luzerne, Jeffery Waters of Port Ritchey, Florida, Richard Waters and his wife, Kelly of South Carolina and Alden Waters of Glens Falls; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his sister, Jean Banks; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

David and Sandra will be laid to rest together at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
