Queensbury – Catherine “Cathy” White, 80, of Queensbury, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on August 25, 1943, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late James Francis and Mary Lavinia (Kindred) Hanley.
Cathy married Theodore W. White on December 29, 1964. Together they shared 51 years together, before he passed away on October 18, 2016.
She retired from government service with her husband in 2003.
Cathy enjoyed flower gardening, taking meticulous care of her lawn and crocheting. She also loved a good mystery, feeding the squirrels and the opportunity she had with her career to travel and live throughout the world with her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her three sisters, Mary Margaret, Elizabeth ‘Betty” and Rose.
She is survived by her children, Cathleen Burns and her husband, Tim of South Glens Falls, Theodore Shawn White and his wife, Beth of San Antonio, TX, Patricia White of Queensbury; her seven grandchildren, Caitlin, Erin, Theodore Connor, Victoria, Alexis, Ethne and Danielle; two great grandchildren,; her two brothers, Daniel Hanley and Edmund Hanley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-cousins.
Burial with will be 9 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Gerald B. H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Stillwater.
