HUDSON FALLS – It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our daughter,

HUDSON FALLS – It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our daughter, Amy Elizabeth (Garn) McKinney, 37, of Hudson Falls, after a long battle with cancer.

Born on January 21, 1983 in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Cindy (Donohue) and Richard McKinney II.

In 2002, Amy graduated from Hudson Falls High School.  She always had a sweet smile that would light up a room.  Amy loved children and animals, but the center of her life was her family.  She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.   

Amy was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Bonnie Belfy and William Donohue; her parental grandfather, Donald Garn; her niece, Izabella Laine Garn; and her aunt, Lisa Garn.

Survivors include her loving parents, Cindy and Richard McKinney II; her brothers, Justin (Chelsea Eggleston) Garn, Martin (Kiersten Millington) Altizio II, Eric (Happy) McKinney, Richard McKinney III, John (Melanie) McKinney, Sean McKinney, Noah McKinney; her siblings in Syracuse, Brandi, Donald, Julie, Jeffery, and Joey; her grandparents, Joanne Donohue of Liverpool, Robert Belfy of Hudson Falls and Joyce Sherwood of Liverpool; her four legged children, Angel, Tucker and Buggie; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, Erica Dresser of Queensbury and Bradley Baker of PA.

Erica, thank you so much for all your love, support and helping me care for Amy.  Also a special thank you to the Doctors at C.R. Wood Cancer Center and the nurses on Tower 2 at the Glens Falls Hospital, for your compassion and the wonderful care given to Amy and her family.

Friends may call Friday, February 14th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., in Hudson Falls.

Prayers will be offered at 4 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, following the calling hours.

Donations in memory of Amy can be made to C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801 or the charity of one’s choice.

    She was a dear friend of mine whom I could talk to about anything and everything she would stay up late just to be there for me, and I’d do the same thing for her. It is so hard to have you not be here I love it and miss you dearly 💔
