Roger G. Smith

HARTFORD – Roger G. Smith, 54, passed Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Glens Falls Hospital into a pain free world from complications from cancer treatment.

Roger was the son of the late Robert F. Smith, Jr. and Ruth (Brodie) Smith, he was born on February 6, 1964 in Glens Falls and a graduate of Hartford High School.  His first employment after high School was with Smiths Equipment Co., with his father, Mother and three brothers in the family owned business, selling and repairing lawn and garden equipment.

He later worked for N.Y. Fire and Signal Co., and also with a larger cattle breeding company, Genex Wisconsin.

Roger is survived by his mother, Ruth Smith; his son Casey R. Smith and his girlfriend, Sarah Bellanger and their soon to be born daughter; he is also survived by three brothers, Robert (Gayle) Randy (Diane), and Ronald (Sue); also many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Burial will be in the spring at Morningside Cemetery in the town of Hartford.

We the family wish to thank the many doctors and staff that in anyway helped Roger with his many years of Cancer survival struggle, also Tony and Verna and those who helped with his vacation to Jamaica and Carol B. Who Volunteered to fly back with Roger after his operation in Florida, Thanks everyone.

Roger’s family suggests memorial donations be sent to the animal charity of your choice.
