Darlene A Miner

HUDSON FALLS – Darlene A Miner, 61 of Hudson Falls, passed away at her home with her loving Fiancé and son by her side Friday morning, June 16, 2023 after a nearly 4 year battle with brain cancer. Darlene fought a brave long battle and was an inspiration to us all.

Born on August 24,1961 in Glens Falls, she was a lifelong area resident and daughter of the late William and Emerentienne (Prevost) Miner. Darlene was a 1979 graduate of Hudson Falls High School. She worked various jobs before becoming a billing and payment analyst for Travelers Insurance from 1988 to 2017, and then for Change Healthcare, retiring in 2019. Darlene loved classic rock music. Her favorite color was blue, and the New York Yankees baseball was a passion she shared with her friends and coworkers. Summer was her favorite time of year where she could often be found at her sister Cindy`s by the pool, making special memories. Chocolate peanut butter ice cream from Martha`s or Rob and Deb’s was her guilty pleasure and lunch at O`Toole`s was always special, but mostly she loved spending time with family and friends. Darlene was a very kind, caring and loving daughter, sister, mother, fiancé, grandmother, aunt and friend who always put others before herself. From working as a single mom and putting herself through school to give her daughter a better life, to helping support her grandsons.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by two sisters, Donna Bapp and Debbie Mattison.

She is survived by her partner and fiancé, Brian K. Burnett; and son Brian C. Burnett of Hudson Falls; a daughter, Jessica Baker of Wilton; her grandsons, Nathan Morehouse of Brandt Lake, and Christien Rothermel of Wilton; her sisters, Connie Szostak (Chuck) of Pennsylvania, Cindy Perkins (Jimmy) of Hudson Falls, Joanne Murphy, of Fort Ann, and Bill Miner (David) of Hudson Falls;, her aunt, Marie Ward, of Hudson Falls; many nieces and nephews Including her special nieces, Tina Mefford, Michelle Siptak, Robin Hicks and Tammy Barrows; many cousins and her extended Burnett family.

Friends may call on Friday ,June 23,2023 from 4pm to 6 pm at the Carleton Funeral Home,Inc.,68 main street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 24,2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

The Family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff and nurses at High Peaks Hospice, special thanks to JoAnn and Holly as well as special thanks to Dr Charles Yun and Dr Timothy Zagar and the rest of the staff at the CR Wood Cancer Center for all the help and comfort offered to them during this difficult time and thank you to Dr. Anne Evans and staff Irongate Family Practice Associates for their help and care she loved you all.
