Edward L. Ballard

GRANVILLE – Edward L. Ballard, 82, formerly of Granville, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on July 19, 1938, in Granville, he was the son of the late Marvin and Gladys (Lindsey) Ballard.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

On June 18, 1972, he married Eileen Smith in Gansevoort.

Edward retired in 1992 from Scott Paper Co of Fort Edward after 32 years of service.

In addition to Granville, he lived in Corinth, Hudson Falls and enjoyed spending winters in Ormond Beach Florida.

His enjoyments included woodworking, yardwork and watching NASCAR Racing.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Rosati Ballard, who passed away in 1985, his daughter, Nancy Jo Ballard, who passed away on November 4, 1996, his sister, Shirley Ballard-Troy and his brothers, Donald Ballard and Raymond Ballard.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eileen Ballard of Glens Falls; his four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his step-son, Robert Shovah and his wife, Jackie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private burial will be at South Side Cemetery in the town of Moreau.

The family suggests memorial donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205.
