Richard J. “Dick” White

GLENS Falls- Richard J. “Dick” White, 67, of Glens Falls, passed away on January 2, 2019 at home.

Born on June 12, 1951 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Theresa White.

Dick graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1969.  He joined the US Army and served his country in Korea.

He retired from the City of Glens Falls Cemetery Department after 20 plus years of service.

Music was Dick’s passion. He played in several bands, most notably, Country Express, and for a few years, he and his good friend Bruce Mumblo played together. Dick enjoyed his trips to play for the seniors with his pal, Andy Szostak on the Holly Jolly Tour.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas White.

Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Lounsbury and her husband, Brian of Queensbury; two stepchildren, Brian Vaughn and Brooke Merlow; his grandchildren, Jon Hermey, Joseph Hermey and Brynn Vaughn; his great grandson, Owen Hermey; his siblings, Michael and Gail White of Fort Edward, Jack and Janice White of Midlothian, Virginia, Kathy and Tim Stewart of Hadley, Joe and Stacey White of Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by two special aunts, Mary Corlew of Queensbury and Eleanor DelSignore of Glens Falls.

Friends may call on Monday. January 7, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls, New York.

Funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at a later date.

The family suggests that donations in Dick’s name be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
