Lowell O. Greene

QUEENSBURY- Lowell O. Greene, 95, of Queensbury, went into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Haynes House of Hope in Granville.

Born on March 16, 1923 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Lowell and Lena (Combs) Greene.

Following high school, Lowell enlisted in the United States Marines, where he valiantly served our country during World War II, from 1942 to 1946.

In 1943, while still in the service, during a four-day leave, Lowell married the love of his life, Beulah Wilcox.

After his discharge, Lowell worked as an electrician. He was first employed at Combs Electric in Glens Falls and later at C.R. Bard in Queensbury. Lowell retired from there in 1988.

Faith was very important to Lowell. He served as a Deacon in the Church.  He was a founder of the Faith Bible Baptist Church in Queensbury. Lowell also taught Sunday School for over 25 years at the Hallmark Nursing Home in Glens Falls.

Lowell was father to seven children, whom he adored and who loved him back fiercely. There wasn’t a job at home Lowell couldn’t do. He built his own house from the basement up.  Lowell passed his talents and interests onto his children, teaching them to fix things, to love each other and to love God.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Bertha Ross and Gertrude DeVol.

Survivors include his loving wife of 75 years, Beulah Greene of Queensbury; his seven children, Gary Lowell Greene (Carol) of West Winfield, NY, Sharon Brown (Daniel) of Hudson Falls, Stephen Greene (Sandra) of Queensbury, Karen Baker (George III) of Sumter, SC, Pamela Tucker (Bruce) of Fort Ann, Deborah McKinney of Queensbury and Ronald Greene of Queensbury; his 14 grandchildren, Kathy VanWierren, Kristopher Greene, Julie Jones Daniel Brown, Jr., Joseph Brown, Theresa Murray, Wendy Cameron, Jason Greene, George Baker IV, Jeremy Baker, Krystal Tucker, Joshua Tucker, Sarah Lambert, Alisha Northrup; 26 great grandchildren, five great  great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, from 10 am to 12 Noon at the Faith Bible Baptist Church, 62 Ogden Road in Queensbury.

Funeral services will take place at 12 noon, Tuesday (following the calling hours at the church with Pastor Rick Yancy officiating.

Following the services, Lowell will be buried at the Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Lowell’s name be made to Hanes House of Hope, 7187 NY-149, Granville, NY  12832
