Jeanine N. Matthews

FORT EDWARD- Jeanine N. Matthews, 84, a long-time resident of Fort Edward, passed away on Thursday November 22, 2018, at the Warren Center in Queensbury.

Born on March 21, 1934, at home in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late William and Melvina (Manell) Mattison.

In 1973, she and her sisters, all received their GED’s.

Her husband, Guy Matthews passed away on October 8, 2001.

She worked as a nurse’s aide at Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Pleasant Valley Infirmary and retired from West Mountain Infirmary.

Jeanine enjoyed ceramics, painting and caring for her plants and flowers. She was a member of the Master Gardeners for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several brothers, sisters and a daughter, Ivy.

Survivors include her seven children, Elizabeth Randolph and her husband, Richard, Rosalie Thompson and her husband, Tom, Kathryn Quarters, Edwin Quarters and his companion, Kathy Gitto, Aarron Quarters,  Cindy Vanterpool and her husband, Don, Stephen Matthews and his wife, Candy;  several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings, William Mattison, Marilyn Phillips and Ellis Mattison and his wife, Joyce; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday November 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.

Graveside services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Moss Street Cemetery in Hudson Falls.

Her family suggests that donations in Jeanine’s name be made to a charity of one’s choice.
