Edward Patrick Corrigan

Corrigan, EdwardHUDSON FALLS – Edward Patrick Corrigan, 72, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2013, at his sister’s home, in Hudson Falls, after a short bout with cancer.

Born on January 29, 1941, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Catherine (Gorham) Corrigan.

Edward proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps.  While serving his country, he rose to the rank of Lance Corporal.  Following his tour of duty, he was employed at General Electric Company in Hudson Falls and Fort Edward.  Edward retired from GE, after 35 years of service.

He loved antiquing all over this area and in Vermont.  Edward also enjoyed walking and riding his bike along the Feeder Canal Path.  He loved spending his time outdoors.  Edward was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Constance Smith of Hudson Falls; his nephews and niece, Robert Smith of Queensbury, Susan Smith of Hudson Falls and Michael Smith and his wife, Anne of Hudson Falls; and his great nephews, Paul, Anthony and Dana.

At Edward’s request there will be no calling hours or public services.

A graveside service will be private at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Memorial donation’s may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Patrick J. “Uncle Pat” Corrigan

corriganHUDSON FALLS – Patrick J.”Uncle Pat” Corrigan, 73, of Grove Ave, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a short illness.

Born on May 17, 1939, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Archie and Alice (Sullivan) Corrigan.

Pat attended Hudson Falls High School and served in the United States Army.

For 20 years he owned and operated Corrigan’s Barbershop in Hudson Falls.  He retired from barbering and opened Uncle Pat’s Sub Shop at the same location.  He operated that business for another 23 years and then finally retired.  Pat was known for his Irish humor and was a goodhearted, kind soul.

Pat was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Darlene (LaPoint) Corrigan, a son, Tim Corrigan and two brothers, Robert Corrigan and William Corrigan and a sister in law, Susan Corrigan.

Survivors include his children, Colleen Holden and her husband, Jay of South Carolina and Daniel Corrigan and his wife, Violet, also of South Carolina; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Kay Williamson and her husband, Ron of Argyle; and a brother, Tom Corrigan  of Glen Lake; three step-children, Raymond VanNess and his wife, Jean of Randolph, Phyllis VanGuilder and her husband, Richard of Hudson Falls and Mary Harrington of Hudson Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013,  at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor officiating.

Following the Funeral Mass, all are welcome to a gathering at McManus Hall, located next to St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church.

The Rite of Committal will take place later in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Avenue in the town of Fort Edward.

Pat’s family suggests that memorial donations in his memory be made to the  American Cancer Society, Mount Royal Plaza, 959 State Rte 9, Queensbury, NY 12804 or the Alzheimer’s Association 4 Pinewest Plaza, Suite 405, Albany NY 12205.
