HUDSON FALLS – Jeanne Marie Wheeler Morris, 70, of Hudson Falls, passed away into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 24, 1945 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Amos Wheeler and the late Lois (Howard) Wheeler.
Jeanne graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1964 and soon after, went to work for Finch Pruyn as a bookkeeper. While working at Finch Pruyn, she met her first husband, Joseph Galusha.
After her children were born, Jeanne stayed home to raise her two girls. When they were older, she returned to the work force, being employed at Mallinckrodt, Kendall Sheriden and finally retiring from CR Bard. Jeanne received many awards in the medical manufacturing field, due to her diligent and dedicated service to her employers.
She loved spending time with her grandson Austin, crafting, knitting and playing dice with her parents. Jeanne enjoyed putting together a good puzzle with family and friends and listening to a funny joke. With her wonderful sense of humor, she could always enjoy the lighter side of life. Jeanne made friends easily and cherished the people who helped her throughout her battle with cancer. During the past two years, Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her friends at her apartment building and sitting out on the back porch visiting, reading and doing puzzles, the Post Star daily Jumble and playing her NY Lotto scratch off tickets. She was an avid NY Yankee fan and also an animal lover.
Survivors include her two daughters, Beth Galusha Clements and her husband, Adam of Queensbury and Deborah Galusha Fryer and her husband, Christopher of Alabama; her grandson, Austin Clements; her eight siblings, Betty Beal and her husband, Tim, Sandra Potter and her husband, Daniel, Kathyl Lyons and her husband, Tom, Gary Wheeler, Howard Wheeler, Lori Eggleston and her companion, Clark Condon, Randy Wheeler and his wife, Barb, and Jeffery Wheeler and his wife, April; her aunt, Beatrice Howard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
