Edward R. Yasko

FORT EDWARD – Edward R. Yasko, 66, of Fort Edward passed away April 4th, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Glens Falls on June 11, 1958, Ed was a graduate of Glens Falls High School. After graduation, Ed enlisted in the United States Army specializing in small arms repair and served tours of duty in both West Germany and South Korea. Ed was employed by New York State Canal Corporation as a Canal Structure Operator, serving at several of the Champlain Canal’s many locks during his over 20 years of service.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, Erskine F. Yasko and Emma C. Yasko, as well as his son James C. Yasko. Survivors include his wife Suanne Yasko, his son Edward A. Yasko (Terri Starker), and his grandson Christoper J. Yasko (Kathleen Hunt). 

Per’s Ed’s request, calling hours and services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in Ed’s name can be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Haynes House of Hope, 7187 State Route 149, Granville, NY 12832.

      I was Ed’s waitress at the Hen House and Scrappys, for many years …..He was a true gentleman and was one of the good ones. May he rest in peace
