Theresa (Rousseau) Hayes Henderson, 93, of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
She was born October 11, 1930, to the late Howard and Bertha (LaValley) Rousseau, Sr.
Theresa worked at General Electric until her retirement and spent many years as a home health aide. She was proud to be a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Robert “Moose” Henderson.
Theresa was a longtime resident of Gansevoort. She and her husband moved to West Palm Beach, FL to retire until after his passing, she moved to Tennessee. Theresa was also predeceased by her siblings, Alice Hamner, Elroy Rousseau, Richard Rousseau, Howard Rousseau, Jr. and Joyce Matraw, her former husband, Gordon Hayes, Jr., stepson, Johnny Henderson, grandson, Jason Cook and her faithful fur companion, Buffer.
She loved living in Rarity Bay, Tennessee, surrounded by the lake and mountains. She made the trip each summer to New York to visit with family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all.
Theresa is survived by her loving children, Linda Williams, Donna (Ken) Cook, Gordon “Chip” (Cheri) Hayes III, stepson, Thomas (Lisa) Henderson; grandchildren, Jay (Natalie) Williams, Tammy (Bruce) Williams, David Williams, Meredith (Chris) Morin, Marleise Cook, Justin (Brittany) Hayes, Jake (Kara) Hayes, Kellen and Jaysen Henderson, former daughter-in-law, Ann Winchell, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Many thanks go out to the staff at University of Tennessee Hospital and the amazing hospice nurses at UT Medical Hospice Services.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Carleton Funeral Home located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
A graveside service will take place at 11 am on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Union Cemetery in the Town of Fort Edward.
