Wilhelmina “Betty” Gregory

GregoryQUEENSBURY-Wilhelmina “Betty” Gregory, 85, entered her new life with the Lord on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward. 

Born on May 6, 1928 in Mayslanding, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Enick and Mima (McIntire) Colts.

Betty spent 50 years happily married to the late Edgar Gregory.  They were married on August 19, 1944 in the town of Kingsbury.  Betty was a stay at home mom, where she raised their eight children and eleven foster children. 

The last seven years, Betty has resided at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward.  Alzheimer’s may have robbed her of a lot, but not of her love of babies, singing or dancing. 

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Edgar who passed away in 1994, her son, Bruce Paul Gregory and her sister, Mary King.

Betty left behind her son, Lance Gregory and his wife, Jeanne of Queensbury; her six daughters; Wilma Oddy of Glens Falls, Pam Hayes and her husband, Robert of Wilton, Deborah Witherell and her husband, Brent of Fort Ann, Kathleen King and her husband, Shane of Fort Ann, Della Gregory of South Glens Falls and Laurie Smith and her husband, John of Warrensburg; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; her brother in law, Bernard Gregory of Glens Falls, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty also leaves behind the many family members she had acquired at Fort Hudson.

Friends may call on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, at Our Lady of Annunciation Church in Queensbury.

The Rite of Committal will follow at the Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Fort Hudson Nursing Center, Alzheimer Wing, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

    Debbie, sorry for your loss. Moms in a btter place with loved ones passed. She was a bery lovely lady. Prayers for you all. Sorry I was unable to pay my respects on Monday.
