HUDSON FALLS – Theresa Grace Keech, 85, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility.

Born August 17, 1930, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Noble and Grace (Garvin) Counter.

Theresa attended St. Mary’s Academy in Glens Falls.

On February 13, 1949, she married Arthur Keech at St. Mary’s Rectory in Glens Falls. Together they shared 52 years of marriage, until his passing on August 13, 2001.

Theresa had a great love for children and did many years of childcare, keeping in touch with many of the children she cared for throughout the years.  She always kept her home open to them.  Theresa was involved in the Fresh Air Fund, a member of the America Legion Auxiliary, Post 574, the VFW and the Mountain Side Grange.  In her younger years, Theresa enjoyed square dancing.  She enjoyed talking on the phone, but the most important piece of her life was her family.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Theresa was a loving and humble woman who will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents and husband, Theresa was predeceased by her brothers, Jr, Bernard, Ned; several in laws, Joan, Jane, Gert, Mildred, Ernie, Leo, Charlie, Agnes, Dorothy; her step grandson, Jonathan Rogers and her special nephew, Toby Keech.

Survivors include her five children, Wayne Keech and his wife, Irene of Greenfield Center, Frederick Keech and his wife, Tina of Hudson Falls, James Keech and his companion, Sue Miller of St. Johnsville, Karen LaBarge and her husband, Tom of Hudson Falls, Kimberley Hall and her husband, Todd also of Hudson Falls; her ten grandchildren, Fred Keech, Jr., Benji Keech, Jennifer Bombard and her husband, Jamee, Jeremy Keech, Brock Keech and his wife, Theresa, James Keech, Kristina Weaver and her husband, Thomas, Tiffany Grace Prunty, Tianna Williams and her husband, Tyler and Brianna Theresa Prunty; her 18 great grandchildren, whom were all very special to her; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; her brothers, James Counters and his companion, Claire, Paul Counter and his wife, Pat, Edward Wells, Jr., Donald Keech and his wife, Marilyn, Raymond Keech, Dorothy Jones, and Emily Keech; several nieces, nephews, including her three special nieces, Lois, C.C. and Joanne; her Fresh Air daughter, Ruth Wright, and many other Fresh Air kids; her beloved cat, Bobbi and many other family and friends too numerous to name.

Theresa’s family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Fort Hudson Senior Day Services, her home health aides, and the staff and nurses on A-wing at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility, who took care of Theresa during her final days.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Flossie Bates, officiating.

Burial will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.
