ADAMSVILLE – Joseph Watson, 59, of County Route 43, passed away unexpectedly, at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 28, 2013.
Born on September 9, 1953, in Whitehall, he was the son of Walter Watson and the late Ruth (White) Watson.
Joseph grew up in South Glens Falls and graduated from South Glens Falls High School, in 1971. Right out of high school, he pursued his love of aviation and earned his single engine pilot’s license.
On October 11, 1980, he married Wendy Springer at the Immaculate Conception Church in Corinth. After his marriage, Joseph and Wendy moved to their current home in Adamsville, where they raised their three children.
Joseph was employed in the auto body profession his whole life. Most recently he worked for his good friend David Ure at Collision Plus. He was an avid sports fan, but football was his passion, especially his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Joseph also enjoyed watching the NY Yankee’s play. He loved traveling to Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Key West and visiting family in Maine. His favorite saying for his wife was, “You plan it, I’ll do it”. Most of all, his family was the center of his life, he lived to be with them and to make them happy. Joseph was a wonderful husband, an awesome father and will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Chamblee.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Wendy Watson of Adamsville; his three children, Samantha Watson, Michael Watson and Matthew Watson, all of Adamsville; his father, Walter Watson of Queensbury; his siblings, Rosann Curran and her husband, John of Queensbury, John Watson and his wife, Sandy of Glens Falls, Walter Watson and his wife, Pat of Bangor Maine, Barbara Reynolds of Queensbury; Sandra LaBerge of Florida, Patricia Gilligan of Vermont and Deannie White of Sudbury, Vermont; his goddaughter and niece, Jamie Chan of Honolulu, Hawaii; his nephews, Joseph, Steve and Jeff Watson of Bangor, Maine; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Services will be private for the family.
