Norman E. Trombley

HUDSON FALLS – Norman E. Trombley, 89, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Glens Falls Hospital following months of declining health.

Norm was born in the town of Fort Edward, NY on October 14, 1931, the son of Floyd and Daisy (Joiner) Trombley.

He attended Hudson Falls High School. Following school, Norm joined the Naval reserve in Glens Falls, where he then left to serve in the Navy.

Upon his return to civilian life, Norm loved to hunt and fish throughout the Adirondacks. Norm was a carpenter by trade and later became the HUD director for the village of Corinth, where he oversaw the home revitalization and winterization programs. He took much pride in helping others through this agency’s programs. Later, Norm started a small engine repair shop where he repaired lawnmowers and snowblowers until his health would no longer allow him to continue.

On February 8, 1996, Norm married Lillian Montgomery Moorman in Hudson Falls, where they resided until her passing on November 6, 2002.

Besides his parents, Norm was predeceased in death by his wife Lillian, a son, Timothy Trombley, a sister, Jean Walsh and brother-in-law, Allyn Walsh.

Norm is survived by a daughter, Christine Trombley of Overton, NV; his brother, William (Bonnie) Trombley of Queensbury; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, at this time there will be no calling hours.

There will be a graveside service in the Spring at Union Cemetery in Fort Edward.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

George “Bud” Trombley

TrombleyHUDSON FALLS – George “Bud” Trombley, 70, of Vaughn Road, passed away peacefully at his home, on Monday, July 13, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 11, 1944, in Niagara Falls, NY,  he was the son of the late George and Maria Trombley.

Bud served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a medic.

On August 16, 1969, he married Barbara McAuley, at the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls.  Bud was a hard working man who worked over 40 years in the transportation field.  He was known to many as “Colonel T” over the CB.  Bud formed many special friendships on the road.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls.  Bud was also a member of the Hudson Falls Fish and Game Club and a member of the Teamsters Local 294, where he served as shop steward.

Bud loved to tinker in his basement workshop.  Most of all, he cherished his family, and every moment he spent with them. Bud was a sweet and generous husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother James Calvin Trombley.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (McAuley) Trombley of Hudson Falls; his children, Angela Trombley of Glens Falls, Laurie Trombley of Brooklyn and Rebecca Williamson of South Glens Falls;  his grandchildren, David Wright, Marisa Locke and her husband, William, Morgan Wright, Natalie Wright, Nicholas Wright, Hannah Williamson and Mackenzie Williamson; two great grandchildren, Alexander Locke and Bentley Bibby; his brother, Michael Trombley of Youngstown and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 am on Friday, July 17, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls, with the Reverend Robert McCrory, pastor officiating.

Burial will follow at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury, with full military honors supplied by the Hudson Falls American Legion, Post 574, Color Guard.

Memorial donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
