John F. Sullivan

Sullivan, JohnHUDSON FALLS – John F. Sullivan, 87, of Third Avenue, passed away at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility in Fort Edward, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Born on August 13, 1930 in Middle Granville, he was the son of the late John F. and Clara (Morse) Sullivan.

His beloved wife, Kathleen “Kitty” Sullivan passed away on November 6, 2002.

John worked as a meat cutter in various grocery stores in his early years and retired from the General Electric Company after 29 years of service.  Following his retirement, John worked for the Washington County Sheriff Department, a job that he loved.

His hobbies included fly-fishing and bowling.  He was an avid football, hockey and horseracing fan.

Besides his parents and wife, John was predeceased by his infant daughter, Donna and his sister, Mary Ann Sullivan.

Survivors include his daughters, Diane Flores and her husband, Tony, of Hudson Falls and Lisa Rogers and her husband, Rich, of Pennsylvania; three sons, John Sullivan and his wife, Teresa, of Glens Falls, Daniel Sullivan and his wife, Diane, of New Mexico and Timothy Sullivan of Hudson Falls; a very special niece, Sandra McCabe of Saratoga and her children, Rob McCabe and Sara Sztaba; his grandchildren, Tawn Borge, Toni Burnell, John Sullivan, Janis Sambrook, Karyn Sullivan, Derek, Kyle and Colin Whitaker, Mitchell, Conner and Noah Rogers, Tristin and Lilly Sullivan and Max Emmons; his great grandchildren, Caitlyn Jeanette Whiting, Nolan Burnell, Owen and Kendall Sullivan, Mia and Samuel Sambrook, Gage and Leo Whitaker, Gagnon and Raela Mae Whitaker, Liam and Kieran McCabe, Maeve and Oliver Sztaba; his sister, Kathleen Moyer and her husband, Bill of Middle Granville; his brother, Michael Sullivan of Middle Granville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Eleanor Fischer.

Friends may call on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 11 to 1 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

The funeral services will follow the calling hours, on Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, officiating.

The Rite of Committal, will follow the funeral services, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville.

Joseph Michael Sullivan

sullivanKINGSBURY – Joseph Michael Sullivan, 60, of Kingsbury, passed away on September 20, 2016, after a long illness.

Born June 15, 1956, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the Late Leo and Colleen (Swezey) Sullivan.

Joseph attended Hudson Falls High School.

He worked for Casey’s Farm and Crowley’s Farm before moving and working on the coal barges on the Mississippi. Joseph then came back home and started his own successful business Professional Floor Sanding.

Joe enjoyed watching his Oakland Raiders, boating and camping in Hadlock, riding his Harley and hunting with his buddies Bear and Peppy. Joe was known for his 4th of July fireworks display (Legal or Not).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Kelly Sullivan, his step-dad, Lester Viele, his Brother-in-law, Noel Barber, and his cat, Howie Long Sullivan.

His survivors include his daughter, Jolene Cronin and her husband, Josh of Kingsbury; his grandchildren, Olivia and Alex Cronin, who know him as Grandpa Jo-Jo; his siblings, Dawn Pugh and her husband, Calvin of Georgia, Kris Barber of Delmar, Lois Sullivan of Queensbury, Colleen Spaulding and her husband, Ken of Kingsbury, Dennis Sullivan and his wife, Virginia of Kingsbury, and Thomas Sullivan and his wife, Christine of New Jersey; his Fiancée, Kelly Carpenter, and her children, Daniel Carpenter, and Devon Carpenter; his niece and nephews, Elizabeth Sullivan, Dennis Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, Jamie Knight, and Jason Knight; and Jolene’s siblings, Shonna McTiernan and Tristen Dougher

Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. located on 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
