HUDSON FALLS – Elaine Barbara (Guilder) Parent, 64, of Martindale Terrace, passed away, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on April 15, 1949, in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Guilder, Sr. and Pauline Margaret (Greenier) Guilder.
Elaine attended school in Corinth. She was employed at Sherwood Medical, later know as Mallinckrodt in Argyle.
She enjoyed dancing, country music, bowling, snowmobiling and motorcycling. Most of all, Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved having the opportunity to help raise her grandson, Bebops.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Edna McWhorter.
She is survived by her husband, Alex Parent of Fort Ann; her three children, Barbara E. Bouton and her husband, Dennis of Hudson Falls, Michelle Donahue and her husband, Tom of Brant Lake and William Butler and his wife, Kim of Queensbury; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings, Bobby Guilder, Jr. of Hudson Falls and Paula Edwards and her husband, Jesse of Hudson Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her dog, Gizmo.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Burial will be at noon on Saturday at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
