James R. Nesbitt, Jr.

NesbittGLENS FALLS – James R. Nesbitt, Jr., 47, passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Born on January 20, 1968, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Sandra (Phillips) Nesbitt-Coffey and James Coffey, Sr.  and the late James R. Nesbitt.

James was a 1986 graduate of Glens Falls High School and a 1989 graduate of Ohio Diesel Technical Institute.

For many years he owned and operated his own auto repair shop, Advanced Automotive Center.

He enjoyed four wheeling, “boy’s night out” which was movie night with his children, NASCAR, camping and most of all the time he spent with his boys.

In addition to his father he is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James and Harriett Phillips and his paternal grandparents, Sterling and Dorothy Nesbitt.

James is survived by his two sons, Jacob James Nesbitt and Carter James Nesbitt and their mother Julia Nesbitt; his mother, Sandra Nesbitt-Coffey and her husband, James Coffey, Sr.; his sister Pamela  Cleveland and her husband Terry; his niece and nephews Jennifer Sigadel and her husband, William and Cody Cleveland; his step brothers and sister, James Coffey, Jr., Micah Coffey and Danielle McKenzie; and his close friends, John Kennedy and Tara Stark.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wade Petteys, pastor of Gateway Pentecostal Church in Corinth officiating.

James will be laid to rest with his father at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury in the spring.

James’s family suggests that memorial donations in his memory be made to an educational fund for his children, Jacob and Carter Nesbitt, in care of any branch of the Glens Falls National Bank.
