SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Michael Patrick Milligan, 51, of The Pines in South Glens Falls, passed away at home after a long and courageous battle with leukemia, with his loving family by his side, on Sunday, August 18, 2013.

Born on September 8, 1961 in Corinth, he was the son of Henry Milligan and Beverly (King) Milligan.

Michael graduated from Corinth High School and while at school, thoroughly enjoyed taking auto body repair at BOCES.   He worked on tow trucks with his step father while he was a student.  Upon graduation, he was employed at Fine Hardwoods in Wilton and for many years, he did custodial work for several area companies.

On October 22, 1988, he married Anita Eckler at St. Alphonsus Church, formerly in Glens Falls.  

Michael enjoyed crafts, bowling and airbrush painting.   Along with his family, he loved vacationing at Disney World and Myrtle Beach.  Michael was an avid Mickey Mouse collector and has a wonderful assortment of Mickey that he was very proud of.  He also loved going to auctions where he could buy and sell the treasures that he acquired.  Michael enjoyed going to horse races with his father.  He was a wonderful man that will be missed by his family and all his friends.

Michael was predeceased by his grandparents, Elsie and Frank King, Sr. and Irene and Ralph Milligan, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Milligan of South Glens Falls; his mother, Beverly (Douglas) Emery of Corinth; his father, Henry Milligan of Corinth; his sister, Lori Emery of South Glens Falls; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be announced on Monday, August 19th.
