HARTFORD – Lucille “Lucy” Nina Schult, 69, passed away peacefully, on April 11, 2016, at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 8, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Gibson) Rock.
Lucille graduated from Hartford Central School class of 1964.
She was employed by Native Textiles for over 30 years, Warren/Washington/Albany ARC, and most recently, retired from Lowes Garden Center in Queensbury, after 15 years of service.
Lucille met her husband, Roy Schult, at Native Textiles and they were married June 28, 1980. Married for 35 years, Roy and Lucy enjoyed a simple but wonderful life together. Many of her most treasured memories were of their trips to “play the slots” in Atlantic City. Lucy was an avid “staycationer”. Sitting on the deck with her morning coffee, lounging by the pool and hosting family BBQ’s, meant more to her than any luxury cruise.
After the birth of her first grandchild, she was known as “Nana” by all of her loved ones. Lucy delighted in the simple things of life. When asked if she could “do anything or go anywhere” she replied, “I just want to be home, reading my books and doing my scratch off tickets”.
She had an unmatched work ethic and was extremely generous. She dreamed of handing out money on the street corner if she won the lottery. If you needed it, she probably had it. Either in her purse or her shed, she would say “wait right here”, and the next thing you knew, she was standing in front of you with whatever you needed.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Rock.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 35 years ,Roy Schult, of Hartford; her daughter, She Hahn and her husband, Scot, of Hartford; her sons Roy Schult Jr and his wife, Renee, of Hartford and Eric Schult and his partner, Barb, of Hartford; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Kelby, Marina, Austin, Leanne, Dylan, Dustin and Dagan; her brothers, Stanley Rock and his wife, Janet, of Hartford and Rolland Rock and his wife, Mary, of Hudson Falls; her sister, Virginia Lambert and her husband, Daniel, of Queensbury; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
At Lucille’s request there will be no public services.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of Glens Falls Hospital and HCR for the excellent care and compassion Lucille received.
Memorial donations in memory of Lucille may be made to the Patient Assistance Fund at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park St., Glens Falls, New York 12801.
