Diane L. Koehler

KoehlerGANSEVOORT – Diane L. Koehler, 75, of Gansevoort and formerly of Long Island, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at West Mount Health Facility, after a long illness.

Born January 30, 1939 in Long Island she was the daughter of the late Wilmont and Emma (Yarczinski) Sofield.

She was a graduate of Hemstead High School in Long Island.  She worked as an administrator at MetLife in Kingston.

Diane enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach and taking walks on the Boardwalk.  She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Diane loved children and was a good grandma.  It was always about “the children”.  She took care of her mother for 15 years until her passing.  Diane lived on Long Island until her mother passed away and then moved up north to be near her son.

Besides her parents, Diane was predeceased by her son, Robert Koehler.

Survivors include her two sons, John Koehler, Jr. and his wife, Jen of West Minster, CO, and Craig Koehler and his wife, Rosemary of Gansevoort; her three grandchildren, Matthew Koehler, Christopher Koehler and Emma Koehler; her two step grandchildren, Monica and Keith Hogan; as well as several cousins.

Friends may call on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, following the callings hours, at 12 p.m., at the funeral home.

Burial will take place on Saturday, at 10 a.m., at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Albany.

The family would like to thank the staff at Westmount Health Care Facility for all the wonderful care they gave when they took care of mom.
