James A. Mercurio, Sr.

mercuriosrHUDSON FALLS – James A. Mercurio, Sr, 63, of Fairview Lane, passed away as the result of a motorcycle accident, on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

Born on August 2, 1954, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Lucy Worth.

Although James never received a diploma, he was considered by his friends and family to be one of the smartest people around, with knowledge in many subjects.

He was very honored to have served his country.  James proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1972 and was honorably discharged in 1976.

His vast music collection included records, reel to reel tapes, as well as many other forms of media.  He loved motorcycles and spent many hours riding with his wife, Sherry.  They both were members of the Adirondack Touring Group.  James also enjoyed racing his bike at New Hampshire Race Track.

On July 28, 1977, he married Sherry Cooper in Hudson Falls.  They have spent 40 wonderful years together as husband and wife and best friends.

He is predeceased by a son, James A. Mercurio, Jr and his mother in law, Elizabeth Cooper.

Survivors in addition to his mother, Lucy Worth, include his loving wife, Sherry (Cooper) Mercurio of Hudson Falls; his daughter, Jesseca Pinto of Daytona Beach, FL; his granddaughter, Mikayla Pinto; his sisters, Delores Moore and her husband, Bob, JoAnne Mercurio, Debbie Whiting, Stephanie Willette, Tammy Harder, Regina Alden and her husband, Scott; his brother, Joseph Mercurio; his sister in law, Vanita Willey (Henry); his brothers in law, Bob, Rick and Ray Cooper; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous special friends, considered as family.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc, 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday.

Burial to follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
